Playwright Bio- Nagle Jackson
Full name, Paul Nagle Jackson; born April 28, 1936, in Seattle, WA; son of an English professor; He married Sandra S. Suter (an actress and singer), September 15, 1963; Has two children, Rebecca and Hillary. Started out performing in various Oregon Shakespeare Festivals and revues from 1957-1968(including a couple of television appearances) which segued into stage directing from 1965-early 1990's. He directed shows at the very same Oregon Shakespeare Festival and at many other Festivals and theatres across the U.S. from New York to California, including places like American Conservatory Theatre, Old Globe Theatre, Hartford Stage Company, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre and eventually McCarter Theatre in New Jersey. He's also directed out of the country at Gorky Theater in Leningrad, U.S.S.R., and at Trondelag Theater and McCarter Theatre Company in Norway. His first playwright credit goes to an adaption of Mystery Plays at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre in 1971 and he has written since then. Some of his works include The Utter Glory of Morrissey Hall, This Day And Age, Taking Leave, A Hotel On Marvin Gardens, The Elevation of Thieves, and Bernice/Butterfly: A Two-Part Invention.
